I just got done making another cross-country move. With this being my third one in total, I have become quite the expert at packing and moving! I had moved from Orlando to Los Angeles just shy of a year ago for business and personal reasons. I didn’t really have long-term plans for staying in the L.A. area, but I definitely didn’t have any plans on where I would move to next. The beauty of being self-employed and operating 2 online businesses is that I can live just about wherever I want to. Because we always took so many vacations to see family and all of the other gorgeous parts of Southern California, it always felt like a second home growing up and always kind of stuck with me as one of those places I needed to live at some point in my life. It was nice being able to visit with my family, and from a business standpoint, the past 8 months in Los Angeles taught me so much about running a successful business and opened up my eyes to new marketing strategies. I know I became a better trainer and even more passionate about the fitness industry while I was there. Long term though, it’s not a place I choose to live, and I was happy to leave as soon as I did. I got in, got what I needed out of being in Los Angeles, and I got out! I won’t miss the traffic, the super fast paced lifestyle, the high prices of housing and gas, and the extremely high state tax. I will miss some of the beautiful sites, such as the Santa Monica Pier, working out at Gold’s Venice then eating at the Firehouse whenever I wanted, the accessibility to so many health food stores, but most of all, I will miss my clients. I had some amazing ones who showed me so much enthusiasm and appreciation for training with me; it made the whole L.A. experience that much more worthwhile.

I am so excited to have now moved back “home” to Orlando. It’s funny how even though I am from such a different part of the country originally, Orlando has become home. Having moved away made me realize and appreciate Florida that much more, and it has brought a lot of clarity for me professionally and personally – all so positive!! I have many great friends and clients I am returning to, and I’m excited to take all of the knowledge I gained being in L.A. and applying it in Orlando. I have also missed the Florida sunshine and heat, the low cost of housing, no state taxes, and the gorgeous beaches. Even though I feel like I’m home, I’m never one to put a timeline on how long I will stay somewhere! Wherever I feel is best for me to be, is where you will find me!
