Ok, I know I just sort of moved back to Florida from Los Angeles, but I am now living in a new city – Charlotte, NC - for the next 90 days! I don’t really feel like I moved again, other than the fact I’m in a different city, and it probably has to do with the fact that all I had to do was leave my belongings in storage, pack a couple suitcases, pack the dogs and go! The corporate housing I’m in is super cute, fully furnished, and has all of the necessities in the kitchen, cable, internet, etc. It actually feels more like I am on an extended trip than anything! I have had fun the past couple of weeks exploring Charlotte, visiting with my friends who live in the area, and being walking distance from the grocery store and the heart of downtown, or “Uptown” as they call it here. One of the most important things for me, was finding a good gym asap! I went to several my first week here, and finally settled on two of them: one primarily for morning cardio and the other for the weights and my plyometric and functional type of exercise work. It has a ton of different types of equipment for functional training, a long turf strip also padded and great for plyo’s and/or different types of sprint work (such as the pic below with me on the Prowler), and a huge platform for multiple people to be able to powerlift at the same time.
Now that I’ve established a new routine, I have a good gym, and I’ve found the malls, I am feeling pretty settled and at ease! I’m fortunate to have some friends who live here as well, but all of the locals I have met are super warm and friendly. I’m like my temporary but charming city with a small town feel to it; it actually reminds me of a lot of my hometown, Portland, OR in many aspects.
So where will I be after Charlotte? Stay tuned!
